CE-marking

SP Sitac - CE-marking in EU-/ EEA- countries
In the future, the majority of construction products will have a CE-marking that makes free trade over national borders possible for states who have sign the EEA-agreement (EU, Norway, Iceland and Lictenstein.
SP Sitac can issue a European Technical Approval (ETA) for a construction product. The requirement specifications are produced according to the rules applied by the European Organisation for Technical Approval (EOTA) . An ETA makes it possible for the producer to put a CE-mark on his product. The approval is based on the 6 essential requirements in the Construction Products Directive. The requirements applied on the specific product is described in the approval. How the evaluation and assessment of the product is often documented in a guideline (ETAG), produced in co-operation between EOTA and the European industry. The EOTA web site shows information about guidelines, issued ETAs etc.

National approvals in other European countries
Having a National Approval for a product in the state of origin makes it easier to acquire an approval in additional states.
SP Sitac represents Sweden in the independent European Union of Agrément (UEAtc). The organisation has 18 member states, see below. UEAtc has developed procedures that smoothens the process to acquire National Technical Approvals in the respective member state, provided that an approval has been issued by a member organisation in the country where the product originate from.
Each member institute has a co-ordinator, who is in frequent contact with his/her colleague in the other countries. The need for National Approvals will remain until the European community, in one way or another, covers all of the UEAtc member states.
The following countries are members of UEAtc: Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Great Britain, Sweden, Tjeckia, Germany and Hungary.
